A good auto parts store should have a good sediment bowl assembly. I get a lot of stuff from O'Reilly's auto parts and so far all the sediment bowls I have got from them are good. As for shutting the gas off it is always a good idea to do so to keep from getting gas in your oil and gas in the oil can/will lead to a blown engine.
