charles, here are some part numbers for the w-6 and w-9 front spindles. for the w-9, it takes part number 58 495 da for the bare spindle, or 58 495 dc for the complete knuckle with washer and nut.
for the w-6 it takes knuckle number 59832 db or 59832 dd for the complete knuckle with washer and nut. the w-6 uses a 3/4 nut on the axle end, the w-9 uses a 7/8 nut on the end. so it looks like the 9 series used a bigger knuckle.
