Both instances may be right depending on whether
you WD-9 is a Super or maybe your book is for a
Super. For the Super WD-9, compression lever
and throttle are up for starting and the WD-9,
both levers are down. Check your serial number
plate if your not sure what your 9 is. I bought
a 9 once and found out it was a super after I
check the serial # plate. It had been repainted
and there were no decals to go by. Hope this has
