rebuilt M 6v generator

I know I'm supposed to use the classifieds but it takes a day before it becomes visible and a day do not I have. I had a 6V generator rebuilt at my friendly electrical shop. Problem is, I no longer need it and don't want to pay for it. He said I could just let him keep it and owe him nothing. He's wanting about $40 for the work. I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in it or am I better off to just let him keep it? thanks
