On the 12 series engines, there is an elbow screwed into the front of the block on the right-hand side just below the cylinder head. This I presume connects to the cavity for the no 1 cylinder valve push-rods. A pipe is screwed into this elbow and runs diagonally across the front of the engine finishing on the left-hand (manifold) side of the engine just above the level of the crankshaft. On the 14s this breather was replaced by one attached to the right-hand side of the rocker cover.
