Hmmm. Emails haven't made it thru, not sure what's up with that. Are you using the skt4 or the staylor48 address? The former is my old college address and is supposed to forward through to the latter, but occasionally something about an attachment will cause it to choke and not forward. Back to the question. I haven't seen the three-rivet design, but can't rule it out as original, if only because of the different manufacturers involved. On that point, I'm assuming you've canvassed your friends in the UK tractor community to see if they've seen the three-rivet design.
If so, or if somebody here can say that they wre just one variation, you could decide (if the lugs are in good shape, and you like them) to follow through on the idea I think you had earlier about having them riveted to blank rims. As far as anybody knows, the rims on Neighbor Dave's 1940 are are four-rivet like mine and are original, so it wouldn't be a big concession to originality if you decided to go with that.
