To use the 450 rods, You would have to find a set of pistons from a 400 C-264, with a 4 inch bore, and uses the small diameter wrist pin.
You wont find a 4 inch bore M-SM with a small pin in any overhaul.
Unless it was for the 400 with a 4 inch bore and small pin. If something like that exists for the 400, then thats a good option. Only other way is to bore the block, install 450 sleeves and got to the 281ci.
