I recently acquired an IH U2 power unit. It has the Farmall A engine. I have looked everywhere I can think of trying to find info on the serial numbers which will tell the age and other things about the unit. I've can't find serial number info anywhere. I wonder if anyone on here knows a source for serial no info on power units or has the info and can help. The engine serial number is UAA 6979G. The serial no. tag gives the model as U2 and the serial number as 6926Z29A. I figured these would have engine serial numbers in the tractors serial sequence, but evidently, the power units have separate serial numbers. Thanks for any help.
