Shifting Gears

This may seem like a silly question but it is intended to be serious: What is the right way to shift gears in a tractor? Do you shift just like in a truck, or do you double-clutch, or don't you shift at all while you're moving but just start out from stop in the gear you think you need? (I know they are geared low but I doubt the engine can keep up if I clutch in to 4th from idle or am I mistaken?) I have a 41 A and only have used 1st and Rev. so far, but may need to take it down the road soon and wanted to know the right way to get there a little quicker without grinding things up. Thanks.
