Wendell, In this Economic climate I think it is a good decision. Not having a major capital outlay now is smart! Unless it is absolutely necessary for you to carry on your Farming activities. For the last 4 yrs are so I have had the pleasure of running a JD4230 which is a 4020 in 30 Series Tin. I have a 73 966, Both have their Strong points and Short comings. You have not said if your 4020 is a Straight 8 Speed standard or a Power shift! The 4230 I have ran is an ol Straight 8 Speed This tractor is really sweet on a 15 ft Batwing Shredder, Where I still prefer My 966 on All tillage activities Just my thoughts here. Take care! Today's Featured Article - Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
