My thought process was: "$50 bucks. Can't lose. If I fail, I can make money parting it out". But, I was sure with a lot of work and a little good luck (i.e. the head ended up being okay), and a lot of money (i.e. major crack repair on block), resurfacing, and various other odds and ends), I could probably bring it back. In fact, it sort of became a mission where I didn't want the thing to "beat me". I have as much money in it as it would cost me to buy a really good restored one, but I tell you what, I have been walking on air all week after that thing started.
I am very hesitant to show the "after" photos, because I made this into a theme tractor (i.e. non-original colors), and I am not sure if I am thick-skinned enough to withstand the "correct police." It's the only tractor that I have or will ever paint non-original. Here is a youtube video link of the not-quite-complete "after" photo and first start.
