I picked this manifold up from a parts '39 H for $70! It's in a lot better shape than my current manifold.
It's got some scale inside, and the heat selector is stuck, of course. But it looks to be in pretty good shape if I can free it. The selector control still has a dot bolt on it! :shock:
The "gasket" between the manifold in the pipe is just a cut piece of metal. Maybe aluminum? I'm wondering why? Do you think they needed the hieght?
On the pipe, you can still see the part number and the IH stamped into it.
On the manifold itself, you can see the IHC stamped at the top (barely), and the raised H and C for the heat selection. The part number is clearly visable, as is the date code. It's either 12 June '39, or 6 Dec '39.
My plan is to toss this in an electrolysis tank to try to free up the selector valve. I'm not sure if I need to have it "hot tanked", so I'd like some opinions on that.
