Technically, they are both the series 6 engine. As they were placed into various machines small external differences were employed at times, but those things are easily transferred. Some stuff like the rear mounting plate is different to accommodate the starter facing the other way etc, and the fuel filter package may have to be swapped. Thinking about it, I'm not sure the front plate is different, not that it matters in your case.
Anyways, either the 3 7/8 or 4 inch kits will be fine. They are dry sleeve too. No O-rings to mess with.
