I recommend a 20 amp fuse in the supply to the light switch. You can do this a couple ways:
1 - Get a cartridge fuse holder, drill a hole in the ammeter cover and mount it as in the later production tractors. (Try Radio Shack or the CIH dealer for the fuseholder.) Use an AGC20 glass fuse in the holder.
2 - Use a modern blade-type fuse and fuse holder and tuck it inside the ammeter box. (A blade fuse holder runs about $1 at any auto parts store.)
Option # 3: Use a 20 amp self resetting circuit breaker.
A fuse holder works Okay for standard lighting but when you add a light or three you can find that the connection between the fuse and the holder is not good enough and will cause the fuse to get hot enough the melt the solder inside the fuse.
