Rusty, I'm not involved in this string but I have a correct and original 1951 M with a T casting code on the tractor. It is located on the engine block and as I recall was cast in late October 1950. I also have other components with U and W codes. The U was used a short time in early 1951 before going to the W code for 1951 parts. As I recall on my tractor all the U parts had January dates so anything cast in a later month had the W code. The latest casting codes are on the rear cast wheels and were cast in mid-March 1951. My tractor has a 2538XX S/N and from prior research was out of the factory in early April 1951. You should be able to use some of this information to provide Mike a fairly close S/N on his tractor as 41,000 were produced in 1951 when more were made then any other year. Hope this helps, Hal.
