check battery with volt meter to see if alternator is charging to the correct voltage 14.5 to 14.9 while running.if so two things could be your trouble, first disconnect hot cable on battery, slow charge battery with battery charger until fully charged, had a new one in a truck that after a day or so of not running it wouldn't start, carried it back to alternator shop where purchased tech. gave me another, to us told to come back after mine in the morning, after charging over night, putit back in the truck worked perfect don,t know why but it did. second check alt.to make sure it's not staying excited or on when engine is shut off, asuming you have a 10 si delco unplug 2 wire plug from alt. check white or one that hooks to #1 termnial for voltage, should dead with engine and ignition off if not it will slowly drain battery, for other style alt.disconnect regulator while not in use, see if that solves problem, if it does alt. is staying on.
