Were SUPER M tie rods in front or back?

I'm looking now at wide fronts for my Farmall Super M. I'm keeping everything original. But I don't know how to figure out if Super M's used the wide front ends with tie rods in front or tie rods in back. Does anyone know? I know the M's used the older version w/ tie rods in back, and the 400's used the newer version w/ tie rods in front. Super M's were somewhere in the middle and I don't want to get the wrong one. Thanks for any help!
