Sounds like you've got a Behlen PS torque generator. It mounts above the gas tank just ahead of the light bar and is fairly large.
The Charlynn is considerably more compact. It mounts under the hood in front of the gage bracket.
Both types work well. However I prefer the Charlynn as it makes for a neater looking installation (can't been seen with the hood on).
Your live pump will easily run either type of PS. You will however need to add a priority valve between the pump output and the PS inlet so the steering doesn't quit when you use the hydraulics.
