David, I'm not real conversant with 5000 series tractors, but we have a 7100 Series Magnum without linkage. The drawbar carriage bolts to the back of the tractor in such a way that it wouldn't interfere with the linkage if the lower arms only were removed. Even the lift arms could be taken off I would think. Our Magnum is a late 7100 series and the dealer said it was the first one he had seen with the new type carriage.Regards, Redfan.

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
