Just to add to what Karl said, the adjustable lower stop is to set your depth etc of where you want hitch or implement to lower to when using it. However, like I said the full lower should be just at or with in a quarter of an inch of that offset in quadrant where you start to enter the action (slow or fast) control segment of the quadrant.
