These are good machines but have a few needs that require addressing. It is essential to use good hydraulic oil (preferably hytran) and to keep the filter serviced. The shift linkage needs to be lubricated for easy shifting. The brake master cylinders are prone to failure but this is minor. I have always thought these tractors to be 52 horsepower. These machines are configured in several designs such as a row crop with high clearence and a straight axle. Another version is a lower profile with a swept back axle to facilitate short turns. Most of the 574s that I have seen had Bosch fuel injector pumps and these have a cold start position which is a benefit. The tractors equipped with engines with the Bosch pump bring up to $1200 more at auction to knowledgable buyers. The price range will be from $4300 to $7000 based on condition and hours
