Josh: You may have had a couple of issues, maybe more than a couple. In all my years with these, coil was the only one affected by warm up heat. Gas problems will usually let it start again in 5 min, or less. Points, condenser, rotor and cap usually stop tractor, cold or warm. Loose and worn distributor shaft can stop a tractor, but it will usually fire right up again.
What I'm suggesting is if all other factors were perfect, coil might not have acted up for another six months. You may have corrected enough to stave off coil a few months, however don't be surprised if it comes back to haunt you.
