The pulley behind "that chunky little gearbox" drives the dual fans on late model (114/120 and later) dual fan one row pickers. The dual fans were mounted high behind the operator. The pulley drive on your gear box drives the single fan on earlier (pre 114/120) model pickers. The fan was mounted down low on the right side of the picker.
