Ed that would be the original spring. The replacements just have a curve on each end. Even a little play in the thruster bearing could make the RPM vary somewhat. Let me chew on this one. I am stumped also. Have you tried a new spring? I think they run around $20 or so. That thruster bearing assembly is a whopping $65!
