horizontal distributor is most likely an IH distributor, vertical would likely be a Delco Remey. IH offered a third distributor but I can't think of the name offhand....danged CRS, but I believe it began with a P. Old IH partsman once told me the 3rd distributor option was not very common & they he had seen less than a handful of IH tractors with them. Guy had been an IH parts man from the early '50s until he retired in the '90s.
Guy could recite parts #s off the top of his head for almost every piece of IH equipment made. Use to make young partsmen mad, ask for a part & he would walk back & get it out of a bin faster than they could look up the number
