On my W9 most of the time I just drop the carburater bowl to check the float and clean gunk out of main jet. If you take the whole thing off you just have to be careful putting the governor rod back into the slot that it fits into. After the first hundred times you take it off to clean or adjust its gets fairly easy. Best thing I did was put a inline filter on. Next best thing is to make sure a good screen is in the top of the sediment bowl. They sell new screens and get a couple of new gaskets for the sediment bowl. You will have it off more than once.
