From what I have learned here on the forum a lot would depend on your soil type. Also, whether or not your SM has 4-1/8" pistons (281 cubic inches) and stepped pistons - i.e., if it has about the same hp as a Farmall 450. In other words, I believe that plow is more suited to being a job for a 450 rather than a stock 264 cubic inch SM with stock flat-top pistons.
