With out looking at it it could be a number of things from something blocking the shift linkage up under the dash like a mouse nest to a bent or broke shift fork a sheared key really can not say for sure . Sorta a pain in the Arres to remove the top cover to remove the top cover as the dash has to come off the tractor . So pull the right side of the cowl off and start there and work down
