yes the 68 series is the V8 series of the 66 series. and yes the 1486 and 1466 are equivalent tractors. 66 came before the 86 series. The number changes were representative of major redesigns. For example the 86 series improved upon the 66 series and it included moving the drivers seat forward from above the rearend to a position where the driver could see the ground in front of the the rear tires. The gas tank was therefore moved behind the seat and was now plastic(no rust). Other changes also existed. Obviously motor sizes increased but so did the transmissions. Also on some all that was done to the motor was a turbo was added, such as I believe the 1086 and 1486 had the same motor but the turbo was added. hopefully I am helping and if I am wrong someone please correct me.....
