I'am not a paint expert but I just finished two 66' series tractors and they turned out well. I used an Iron oxide primer, it covers better because its dark. I used IH 2150 red/rouge paint with thinner that dries fast and can be put on down to 50 degrees. I put on first coat real lite as to cause a tackiness, let sit for about 5 min, then go back and put on a wet looking coat, sprayer about 6 to 8 inches from metal and long steady strokes with the gun, let sit a little longer and go back and wet coat again. Make sure your not thinning paint down to far, try less thinner, practice on something else first. I would make sure you have in line moisture filter on compressor and regulate pressure according to sprayer manual.
