I replaced a water pump on my Farmall 544 gas. On the old pump, the rear cover plate over the impeller had bolts in all the holes except the one that sat against a rubber grommet between the engine and pump. I got the new pump and it didnt come with a rear cover plate so had to use the one off the old pump. I installed the bolts the same as I found them and after installing the pump and filling the radiator, it is leaking around the rear cover plate in the area where the grommet is with no bolt? I assume I should find another bolt and stick it in the hole behind the grommet? Anyone else ever replace this style water pump before? I'm just not sure a bolt and the grommet will both fit but thats what it looks like it needs to me.
