It is a Roosa Master pump. The window I am talking about is a little plastic,"window" that one installs where the little cover on side of pump is. It takes an understanding of the operation of the pump to do you any good. It is so you can observe movement of the automatic advance while engine is running and make adjustments if necessary. To just check the timing you take off the side cover like I said. It is just a little rectangular plate about an inch and a half long by maybe 3/4 inch wide. You didn't indicate if you had pump off or not so I just figured you wanted to check the static timing. If you are installing the pump, you will need to find number one tdc, like take out number one glow plug and turn engine until you have compression coming out and then align pulley one degree mark with the pointer. Then turn pump until the marks in pump align and install. Recheck by turning engine backwards a ways and again turn to one degree on pulley. I don't have pictures to post, not into that end of it. Also, are you having a problem with the engine or just checking it out.
