The model is identified by the prefix on the serial number. The serial number is on a tag. The location of the tag depends on the model, but it's generally on the clutch housing, frame rail or rear end/transmission area. Someone will be along with more specifics on where to look for the tag.
Once you have the serial number, you can use that to determine the year looking at the lists by model provided on the left side of the screen. Look under the "Research & Info" heading and clickon "Serial Numbers".
