Just think, only 20 years later, in 1066, the Normans invaded England and put all them French words in our language. Now we have cuisine instead of cookin' and pate de foie gras instead of goose liver paste. Come to think of it, I don't much like the sound of goose liver paste and probably wouldn't eat it if I knowed pate de fois gras was ground up goose livers. Last time I was in Paris, I had me some escargots and I was glad I got back home before I found out it just means snails.
