There should be a safety wire or cotter pin in the threads to keep the adjuster from backing out. Remove that, then use a tie rod adjusting socket (big screw driver) to loosen the adjuster. The ball then slides to a larger area of the tie rod, and comes out. Look for ovaling of the ball, and wear of the pucks that push on the ball. If oval more than .005 or so, welding it up, and turning it round will be needed. If adjusted tighter on an oval ball, the ball will bind in the pucks, and possibly break off. JimN
