The regular is the fore runner to the F20. When it came out, it was simply called the Farmall. When the Farmall F30 came out, the Farmall was called the Regular. It has a different manifold, with the carb higher, and the exhaust exiting on the bottom, with no stack as standard equipment. The regular has a 3 speed trans, the F20 has 4. The regular has open gears for the steering, of the curved rack and pinion type, the F20 has enclosed steering, of the worm and sector style, like the later farmalls. The regular uses the earlier E4a style mag, which requires the impulse to be manually set each time you crank it, or it wont impulse. You can fit the later F20 F4 mag, and get the impulse automaticly. Instead of a dual fuel tank like the F20, the regular has a separate small gas tank behind the fuel tank, near to the operator. All farmalls were painted grey until the 1937 modle year, which started on the fiscal year of september 1936. They had red wheels, but I have never heard of red engines. There is a really good book called the Farmall Regular Photo Archive which I think you would like. It is ISBN number 1-882256-14-X and is available at amazon.com and other places.
