Hello, I have a TD-18, so have some experience. 1)have you had the magneto off? If so, timing may be the problem. It is a challenge to retime, if you've had the magneto off. 2)the magneto has a 'snap' action to it. On my 18 mag, the pawl is on the front of the magneto. Sometimes the pawl doesn't engage and I could crank all day without success. Tapping it lightly and I can hear it engaging and it always starts. 3)You say you have spark---at the plug? 4)Are you sure the fuel line is clear? 5)When attempting to start on gas, press down hard on the 'switchover' lever. Your linkage for the gas to diesel valve may be slightly out of adjustment. I have to hold mine down a bit. 6)What do your plugs look like? Are they clean? 7)Double check the points and the grounding screw which is connected with a wire to the end of the intake manifold, where a limit switch grounds out the system, if the air baffles aren't flipped in the proper direction. If you have spark, this probably isn't the case, although you may want to confirm that these intake dampers are opening--I think you just need to make sure damper shaft rotates when you flip the compression lever. I fought my 18 for several years before deciding that I had a tempermental magneto. I converted it to battery ignition and now, with the exception of the pawl sticking occasionally, it bellers like an old bull, just as easy as you could ever believe.

The garden was already sprouting when we hooked up the mid-mount shovel cultivators to the Pony. The seed bed was soft enough that the rear end would spin and slowly work its way to the downhill side of the gardens slight incline. From this, we learned our lesson sinc
