had the same problem and it is explained well in the link. if i held i back farther it would work for a little longer. both my pins and coupler and pto shaft were worn. i replaced it all in a couple of hours and it has worked flawlessly since.
they are right the splines are getting worn but it is most likely the pin riding in the collar is worn down so it cant push the collar back far enough to engage the splines properly. i wouldent continue to run it like that, it can cause excessive wear from unloading.
