I have a farmal A ser #186983 that did not come with the PTO attachment. I purchased a used one from a scrap yard an found that when I tried to install it the main shaft when fully seated in the female bushing whinin the tractor appeared to be about 5/16" to long. I estimate this length do to the gap left between the tractor & the PTO housing. If the housing is tapped it just pushes the bearing out of the cup holder. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
