I have a 300 Utility that does the same thing. I did searches in the archives here and google. It seems that the planetary PTOs make this noise when disengaged. I used the seasonal disconnect over the winter when I didn't need the PTO. Is the correct lube in the PTO housing and the level correct? I had the replace the seal between the PTO unit and the rearend housing as the transmission lube was leaking into the PTO and coming out the vent. Changed both lubes to hytran because I have the T/A.
