If you are changing from a magneto to a distributor then you will no longer have the snap of the impulse coupling. The timing is not set the same way as the magneto but will not be much trouble. For the mag you put the timing mark at TDC and then turn the magneto til the impulse couplng snaps and then set it right there at 0deg top dead center. The distributot is easiet set by putting the #1 cylinver at TDC setting the distributor close to #1 and then starting the engine and move the distributor until it is the smoothest at idle.
