Hi, can anyone out there give me some verbal instructions for timing the injection pump (CAVtype) on the BD154 diesel on my IH 3444. My tractor sat too long and the fuel went bad which varnished the internals so I had to take the pump in for a rebuild. The tractor previously ran fine, but when I pulled the pump off I noticed that none of the marks (what I expect to be for timing) appeared to line up in any sort of logical sequence. I set the Crank pulley mark to the 12 O'clock pos, but the marks on the timing gear and the Pump drive gear weren't pointing at each other or even close. I'm pretty new to this old tractor and don't have a manual...Yet. If all else fails and since nothing has been moved I'll just put it back the way it was and I guess it should run since it used to, but I would rather make sure that it is set properly. Any assistance would be Greatly appreciated.
