Probably 80years old, and sitting on 4 gallons of water for 20+years, then sloshed with the water for 10miles last fall, the transmission lube is probably due for a change - probably 80/90 may go thicker.
Anyway, I was going to run that 22-36 around a little with a couple gallons of diesel in the transmission to thin down the grease before changing it, but got to thinking what about dropping the engine oil (I know a few parts had to wear in so there's likely a minute brass floaties, and maybe some steel too - not enough to loose sleep, but a good excuse to swap it early anyway) in there instead; Rotella 15-40, so it would be a detergent oil. Might still need some diesel to thin it after that, but I'd think it'd clean up well.
