I agree about the steering arms. My 1466 was having the same issue. Removed the arms and the splines in the arms were razor thin. Luckily, the shaft was fine so all I had to do was replace the arms. I also replaced the tie rods.
That took out a lot of the slop but I still see a front end rebuild in the horizon. Not surprising, though, as I have 1000lbs of weight on the front which I'm sure takes its toll on the front end.
