Harold, we used the distlate in Arkansas in the 40s and 50s it was the main fuel, in fact I had a model A Ford car when I was a teenager and I would use it in the car when the weather was hot, had to use the choke a lot until she got good and hot, I left there in 53 and hav'ent seen any since, Over here in Tennessee thay talk about useing kerosene years ago, I don't ever remember us useing kerosene, the distilate was a light green color.
