Are you sure the switch for grounding out the mag is in the run position? You need to make sure the points are set at .013" and are shiny. Use some 320 wet or dry. You should have a hot blue spark every time it fires. Could have a weak coil. The magman in NY rebuilds these mags. Send him an email and ask his opinion. It may need rebuilding do to its age. Hal

PS: If you decide to have it rebuilt make sure you make a sketch where the rotor is pointing before you pull the mag. THEN DON'T MOVE THE ENGINE until you have the mag installed. Place the rotor in the same postion as your sketch.
