I hate to offer unsolicited advice (so don't cuss me too much) but for my 2 cents it always makes more sense to me to fix what you got. With all the time and effort and expense to swap engines and then it need a rebuild in a couple years doesn't seem worthwhile. Who knows what shape the valves, pistons, rings, and cylinders are in? Overhaul what you got, even if you have to take the head and block to a shop, you are good to go for another 40 years.
