Howdy Red Folks.....Grey Ford Person here. I posted here about 1 year ago about a friend of mine going to purchase a Super A and a 454 tractor from an old farmer who has retired. The farmer's wife now insists that he sell the tractors, and he has sold the Super A. My friend went yesterday and looked at the 454, and is excited about it. He is tractorally challenged, and I only know about Fords.....so here goes if anyone has time to help us: 1. Does the 454 have Live PTO, 2 stage clutch, live hyd., hyd. remotes, etc? 2. I think they were made in the early 70's - is this true? If so what years.... 3. Where is the actual serial # and/or model # located on this machine? (ex. my Ford is on a flat spot on the bell housing just behind the starter.) 4. What is the approx. HP of this machine? 5. What would a ballpark price be for one of these? I have known this machine since it was new. It has a lot of hours, but was shedded and fairly well maintained. Used it mostly to bush-hog and pull a manure spreader from his chicken houses he cleaned out yearly. 6. Any other goodies or gotcha's that we might be interested in? My friend needs a tractor for mostly bush-hogging his 15 acres and plowing his veggie garden a couple times a year. Maybe pull a firewood cart around in the fall. All advice & guidance is welcomed....... Thanks in advance, Tommy D.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken by Harold alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that the major was produced late 19
