Don't know if this is the problem, but whenever i change the trans filter on my 1466 i have to bleed the pump behind the cab step. On the 14 its just a small bolt facing downward, i take it out, start the tractor until it sprays out and put the bolt back in. Don't know if the 806 is set up the same way though. I had it lose prime once when it was real cold out too, I replaced the pump a few years back inside that side cover, but it will still lose prime when i change the filter. I have heard of over filling it solving the problem, but if you go to change the filter i think you need to drain the transmission down to regular level or the oil will run out the filter hole, just my experience with it.
