Check Your GVW plate.. I bet someone just bolted dual wheels up to the rear axle.. It should have a GVW of 10,000 lbs or real near it if it really was so equipped from the factory. I own the same truck, with 16.5 singles, with a wrecker body.It was pretty good for what it was designed for, but, yes, those drum brakes were a white knuckle experience at times. My body has gotten to the point of no return, and it blew a head gasket I think, so now its a yard ornament. A shame, cause it is twice the truck my 90 F-250 ever was. I'm almost tempted to swap axles but the pumpkin is on the wrong side.. They are good trucks, but they sure ain't no Cadillac!
